With all the wet wild and windy weather at the moment I find myself reflecting on all the lovely Crear brides of the summer season.

The frisson of excitement and anticipation of wonderful festivities that is created at the height of the wedding season is always magical.

Rarely a moment passes at this time in the wedding season when I am not thinking about flowers, colour combinations, which flower to use with which to help design the overall theme and atmosphere our bride wishes to create.

Crear is a space to create, and our studio is second to none looking on to the the islands beyond; the wonderful paps of Jura where there has been many a glorious sunset as the sun sinks slowly to the west; the wedding party continues; fairy lights sparkle and candles flicker against the night sky. Foot stomping ceilidhs and hearty jigs resound around the coastland.

As you will see from some of the images, our brides and grooms have been wonderfully creative with the space and have come up with all sorts of fun and fabulous stylings.

Lots of our weddings have been thoroughly vintage affairs. Tea cups, old silver tea pots, quirky containers and other interesting finds have been used to display all the glorious wedding flowers.

As you will see we have had lots of pinks and purples this season. Gorgeous Hydrangeas in all sorts of sumptious shades, I never tire of them. Beautiful anenomes, one of my favourites - although a florist never really has a favourite. I tend to be in love with whatever I am working with at the time. Lots and lots of beautiful roses in glorious shades and heavenly scents of some of the old fashioned roses; reminiscient of a Gertrude Jekyll cottage garden - mustn't forget the beautiful Delpiniums this year, the intense shades of blue made your heart sing - and of course ranunculas, another favourite! Not to forget Parrot Tulips, yes another favourite! The list is endless. These are but a few...oh, I have to slip Muscari in too!

Sun, Sea and Sand inspire for Charlotte and Steve

Charlotte and Steve found a beautiful sun-filled window of opportunity in April. Charlotte's colour choices were inspired and inspiring, particularly in the stunning coastal setting at Crear.

Charlotte and her bridesmaids looked beautiful in the bright clear Crear sunlight, and her wedding day was a near perfection as one could hope for.

Even when the sun went down on the day, the evening light was a real joy. A wedding to remember and treasure.

Crear Flowers goes global [...well nationwide at least]

At the end of March 2011 we took a stand at 'Thee Wedding Show' in Glasgow's George Square, the better to launch Crear Flowers on an unsuspecting public.

...and before you ask, the dogs are Kate's, not mine. They are called 'Speckle' and 'Fling' and were so disappointed that they were not allowed into the show that they demanded photo-publicity to prove that they were not left out. Some dogs,eh?
